Hard to believe, but the Fresno Rainbow Pride Parade & Festival
is 3 weeks away. This year is the 20th Anniversary of the event, resulting in
the theme for this year, "20 IN 2010".
Community Link
will again be hosting Fresno Pride, which will be held on Saturday, June 5th this year,
with the Parade starting at 10AM
in the Tower District. The Festivalbegins at 11AM,
following the Parade.
Planning meetings are now happening, and
occur every Wednesday @6:30PM
in May & June 2nd
at 1055 N Van Ness Avenue
in the conference room.
Specific things the Pride committee is looking for help with this year
include…
Planners, volunteers, organizers
and workers.
Help in making a
"Parkette" (a park like
green area) at the SW
corner of Fulton & Alhambra.
Help in bringing in the GLBT
Marching Bands from the state.
Help with Entertainment.
The Fresno Rainbow Pride Parade & Festival
is also seeking cash donations to help them achieve their fundraising goal for
the year. It takes a lot to pull off this event every year. We encourage the
community to get involved and assist with the largest LGBT event of the year.
You can contact Community Link (which runs the event annually) to
provide assistance or to make a contribution…
