Dear Brooke —
We need to take a stand for equality.
All of us. On the Saturday after the California Supreme Court rules to either uphold or overturn Proposition 8.
In Fresno, the heartland of California.
We know the people whose lives are on the line — those who identify as gay, lesbian, bi-sexual or transgender — will be there. But we need everyone there. Especially straight people.
Everyone.
It’s called "Meet in the Middle for Equality" and it’s a major rally being organized by organizations across the progressive movement in California. Launched in early March by amazing grassroots organizers in Fresno, over 70 sponsoring organizations are now mobilizing their members to show up.
While we don’t know when the Supreme Court will rule exactly, we know it will be within the next four weeks. Californians need to be prepared to commit right now to go to Fresno on the Saturday after the decision is announced, no matter what that decision may be.
This will be a moment you don’t want to miss — an unforgettable moment in the history of the marriage equality movement.
We need everyone there. Will you come to Fresno to "meet in the middle for equality" on the Saturday after the Supreme Court rules? Please RSVP right now — it only takes a minute:

Why Fresno?
The battle for equality has to be fought in Middle America — in places like Fresno, California — not just in gay-friendly cities like San Francisco and Los Angeles.
California’s Central Valley population is far more reflective of national attitudes towards LGBT equality — and until we engage the communities of Middle America, we will not achieve full equality in California.
Please come to Fresno to "Meet in the Middle for Equality." We need you. We need everyone:

This isn’t just about California. It’s about America. This isn’t just about marriage. It’s about human rights.
On the Saturday after the Supreme Court ruling, we will either celebrate or we will protest. But no matter what happens, we will organize to bring full equality to America — starting in the heart of California.
I hope you will be there.
Charlize Theron
